Elsmere Place<br> San Antonio 12 Texas<br> Sunday, 10 December 1961 Dear Minna: I am enclosing a copy of a letter received from Mrs. Glover Johns, mother of the Colonel Glover Johns who had so much publicity. I finally got up courage to write to her in spite of the fact that Sister thought I should not. I offered her the information about the name :Glover: which her daughter-in-law had asked for and some other stuff. You can see they contacted Winston as sister had told the daughter-in-law that he lived close to where VMI is located. Guess they did. I do not believe they got anything from Winston but the copy of the "story of my life" that Grandpa Johns wrote in 1874 and the one you first sent me. What do you think!!!! I guess you found all of the books and now do not think Winston has any, isn't that right. It seems I do not have enough to do, always in pursuit of something or other but will have more time after 15 January probably as I will drop one part time job then. what about the account books? Would you be willing to send them to me and what is the best way to do it do you think. I do not seem to get anyone to help me pay for hiring someone to type them so will have to do it myself. They should start with one at a time. Let me know what you think and we do not wish to have you paying all the transportation charge. Sister has been helping me copy the memoirs and we are about finished but I would like to type them before I return them if you do not mind. Have you found what is the matter with Bonnie? I have not heard from her in a long time and I had sent her some excerpts from the diary that Anne had copied. I do hope that she is not angry of something. I hope you both are well and that Lois' family is well. This is a busy time of year but we do so little at Christmas anyway. It seems to be in the air and the stores are just crowded with people buying, buying. Saw that the place that makes the candy was using new pecans so decided to send you some of it. Wanted to do it at Thanksgiving but did not get around to it. Am also enclosing another sequence to the Peter Francisco story. The Superintendent at the Park has been very nice about it.
