Biography

Blanche Lindsay Gauss was the daughter of Charles Henry Gauss and Charlotte Elizabeth Johns. She never married. In later years, lived with my grandmother, Lois Gauss Simmons. My mother called her "Aunt Blanche" and says that she dominated the household, commandeering the best bedroom, and was generally disagreeable. She had some sort of disability, at least in old age, using a cane and limping heavily.
