Dear Minna:

It has been quite a while since I sent the card about Margaret's death, she died on June 26. Margaret Martin Travis sent us a letter also, thinking that we might not have heard, she said she also wrote to Lois. We knew that Margaret had not been well but did not know the nature of her infirmity which did not alway disturb her. Seems she had a heart palpitation, had also hurt her foot very badly, anyway I do not think she had been so active. Margaret Martin also told us that Jane is in Europe and also Mary Gladden, I'll tell you they sure do get lots of American dollars over there and while some of our family go, Sylvia once and intends to go again and Emma every year, I still just plain like the good old USA. I am sorry about Margaret, she was a fine person and had stood up against many things. Eleanor and Glenday will miss her. They do not have a very happy remembrances of their life in Texas is the reason I did not send them the story of Grandpa's trip to Texas.

I have written to Mrs. Morton but no answer so far, offered her money, it may be possible she is away. Anyway it seems I just get to getting somewhere and it all ends. She did say she made her living partly from doing genealogical work. Still hope to hear though. Also wrote to the man in Curdsville who distributed the letters for me to find out if the Jones who live at Sheppards are the ones they talk about living near New Store but he has not answered. I cannot find a Sheppards on the map, that is the one we heard from and he disclaims any connection with Johns as he has the family Bible with names in it.

I also noted that grandpa Johns wrote that his Uncle Jack Jones and his sister married Winstons but your letter stated that only one of them married a Winston, Could he have forgotten after fifty years. Also he stated that it was his Uncle Anthony Johns' daughter that married a McCormack and it was her son that his Uncle John adopted. Anne's letter to John jay stated it was his Aunt Mary's daughter who married the McCormack, and their son adopted by his Uncle John and name changed to Thomas Winston Johns. I wrote also these items to Mrs.. Morton. These genealogists are tricky, some have faith in them and some do not. They want the money on the barrel head and use it at will and send you what and if they can find anything.

I am writing the genealogical society (Virginia Historic Society) and ask them how to get information, I just have to finish all of this up somehow. I am having the same trouble with my mother's father's family. They all want information and I give it to them and offer them money and I hear no more. Really we do not have much to give on the Tutts but there must be a record somewhere in Kentucky. If we just had a decent library here I bet I could find something.

Please let me know what your address will be in Miami when you write and let me know what you think about the questions above. We have had Jack in hospital in Beaumont with severe back pains and now Arthur is in the hospital here with a collapsed lung, he had a fall up the street, the sidewalk is very bad unformately, this region is rather hilly and uneven, at first he though it was only soreness but when he checked in at the hospital, they really went after him. And I, in my old age, and starting to have Hay Fever. What a mess. I cant let it stop me. Hope you all are well, With love

Florence

P. S. In a hurry to get off to the hospital to see Arthur.
