Dear Minna:

I finally got Sylvia here to look over the books and since I had marked the items that Anne had copied she went over them pretty quickly. Was quite interested in a great many of the items that he had written but I suppose Anne thought she would pick out what she thought was important and it does take a long time to go through them for that purpose. She wrote them down and we have a copy of what she wrote so that is obtainable for the copying which I shall be glad to do if you and Lois want one. I did not copy any of the writing Anne left out. There are still some more to check as you sent me the book through may 1879 and I would like to check all the items off that I have copied. Then if you want to send me some more also I will start to copy and copy everything in them.

Sister considers the books yours but they have created so much interest not only in our family but with everyone that sees them, I think they are worth while taking care of. In fact, as I had mentioned once before, once they are copied, that gets it down in another form to make more copies.

It has been very nice of you to be so generous with them and I hardly know what to do, or say, since it is up to you, apparently. I shall be glad to help in any way I can and Glover seemed very anxious to get records made of them. He offered to pay but the writing is hard to read I doubt if any one could do it without constant help.

I can do a real professional job if I try to but did not have much time when I was doing it before.

Will be glad to hear from you any time you can write. Hope you are both well. It is getting to be summer time here and we have had a little rain for a change. Have been short about 15 inches so far and wind, wind, wind, which is very drying.

All for now Let me know what you think.

Florence

Will return the books now or do whatever you say.

P. S. We have not heard from Mrs. Morton in Virginia, the woman who knew so much about the Winstons and said she had plenty of Winston blood in her.
