Dear Minna:
Thanks for returning the clipping. We have not made any decision about getting the diaries copied or sent here as I do not have time to copy them now and hope that in a little while we can decide. It has been surely a great thing that you have taken care of them and am sure that you agree with me that they should be copied.
I am enclosing a copy of a letter I received from the National Military park where the monument of Peter Francisco is placed. It is self-explanatory and you know as much about the rest as I do but will let you know if I can get any more information about in what magazine it was published, feel sure it was on or about the time it was erected.
I have been studying about just how to go about finding out about the Major Johns, Grandpa Johns wrote in the little "memories of S.A. visit". Glover said someone had mentioned the name to him once. Perhaps if I ever get up the courage to write to Mrs. Glover Johns, Sr. in Austin she may know about him. did I tell you that Grandpa Johns mentioned him as a 3d cousin, their grandfathers being brothers?
It is surely hard to get doctors to decide wisely these days, there are so few of them and so many people suffer through their lack of concentr4ation. We are supposed to get a medical school here, The Southwest Texas Medical School, they have the sight and ground I understand but it will take a long time to build. The country needs more doctors and more places for the doctors to interne and for one reason or another it has been hard to get into medical school. A great many hospitals are not authorized or do not have funds to pay the internes, as little as they get.
It is always nice to hear from you and we hope you both are well,
Love Florence
P.S. They also sent me a map showing part of the National Military Park and a story about the battle and a picture of some of the men in action including Peter Francisco.
