Dear Minna.

I have been doing so much worrying about how you are getting so decided I would write and tell you we hope every thing has been going well. I do know it takes a long time so do not exert yourself to write Just wanted you to know I have not finished the excerpt from the diary yet but hope to do so soon. Anyway they are safe. Jack's wife Emma just had an operation on her ear to help improve her hearing but I do not believe it was too successful. The ear is a hard place to work. 2½ hours, tried to insert a [new?] She is quite a lovely person. We thought she had given up on operations as one could not tell she is deaf. There is little new here Mrs Leather phoned to say she had some new material but have not heard. She belongs to so many organizations. I am sorry not to have written sooner but was afraid you might try to use your eyes. Love to you both.
