Dear Minna,

Am enclosing a copy of a letter written to Mrs. leathers by Winston Johns. I think it is high time he is trying to find out something instead of depending on others, beings he is on the ground floor. you can return it me when you have an opportunity to do so. what occasioned the letter was that he wrote to Sylvia and asked to send an enclosure to Mrs. leathers, had forgotten her address. Guess what it was! Grandfather Johns' statement of his Life. did you know that the original of it is in the Library in St. Louis? I imagine Winston or some of them have all the account books you are missing. By the way, Mrs. Leathers has found out the exact year of Col. John Johns' death, shown on the tax list as deceased in 1815 instead of the date we all had. He is shown in 1814 though. She also asked me to find out if any of the account books mention any of Grandfather Johns' family or do you remember. If they do I will be glad to pay the postage on one of them you think is worthwhile. Let me know. I will return it. This is a busy world we are living in and things do not seem to improve any. We saw in the newspaper that the Johns Hospital in Taylor, Texas had burned to damages o[f] $200,00. I was told it was owned by Dr. John Jay Johns, guess one of the Palestine descendants. speaking of Mrs. Leathers I think she has finally located her William Johns, she thinks he is a brother of Glover Johns but what confused her was that there were several William Johns' living at the same time. she thinks John Johns' father was William Johns and he also had a son William Johns who was John Johns' brother. The two William Johns' just mentioned died within several years of one another. that made it hard to figure out who was who but she got out some tax records and checked and double checked and it surely appears logical. We have had some beautiful sunshiny weather but no rain however it is cloudy and misting today, had a queer winter. We are all about the same and hope you both are well.

Love Florence
