Dear Sis -

Susan has commissioned me to answer your favor of sometime in August, while we were at Okawville, Ill. taking the hot baths, and give the reason why she did not answer.

After Net had gone through a long course of medicine and taken the prescribed course of 21 baths, the trouble in her developed so that it was necessary to take her to the hospital for an operation. She is still there & Susan has to stay with her. Last January Net got hurt in boarding a crowded Street car was jammed against the rail which was the cause of the formation of a hard cake & inflamation. Four doctors have tried to dissolve it by treatment but at last, it had to be cut out. The operation was performed Monday morning. Susan keeps me informed every day. Net is doing all right, so the doctors say, but she is very weak & nervous. will have to stay there maybe a couple of weeks. Curt is now taking the baths for a severe attack of rhumatism. Laura is here with us but will probably to to Okawville tomorrow or next day to see him. We dont know where you are, So, I send this to Eugene -- Suppose you had a delightful trip. My love to Robert when you see him.

very truly your loving Aunt, L. C. McCluer.
